Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner C.V. Anand on Monday said that for the first time, teams from all 14 police departments were participating at the annual sports meet. The four-day event will see police personnel showcase their talent at the Goshamahal police stadium.Anand emphasised the importance of sports in overcoming work-related stress and maintaining physical fitness. Badminton players Saina Nehwal and P. Kashyap attended the opening ceremony of the event and also spoke of the importance of staying fit to keep their minds fresh.Elsewhere, the 6th edition of the Rachakonda police commissionerate sports meet was inaugurated at the Saroornagar Indoor Stadium. Speaking at the inaugural event, Rachakonda police commissioner Sudheer Babu said, “Sports are a crucial part of our lives and help us to overcome different types of mental and physical stress.”He noted that the competitions would be held every year and encouraged the police personnel to participate enthusiastically in these events.
