Hong Kong top court rules in favour of civil unions for same-sex couples-

HONG KOND: Hong Kong’s top court ruled Tuesday in favour of civil unions but stopped short of granting full marriage rights to same-sex couples.

The Court of Final Appeal ruled that the government was “in violation of its positive obligation… for legal recognition of same-sex partnerships”, according to the judgment. It added however that the court “unanimously dismisses the appeal” in relation to recognising same-sex marriages.
