VIJAYAWADA: The common people came up with positive responses to the Union Budget 2025 presented in Parliament on Saturday and welcomed the government’s focus on education, tax relief and MSME sector development.Chilukuri Ram Kumar, a chartered accountant, appreciated the budget’s tax exemption on income tax upto Rs12 lakh, saying this would be a relief to the middle-class and salaried employees.Retired bank manager SV Mallikarjun saw the budget proposals as a positive sign for the middle-income groups, noting that it delivers long-awaited relief after a decade.“This budget brings huge relief,” said Pingali Sampath, a government employee. “The reduced tax slabs under the new income tax regime are beneficial. Overall, the budget looks promising and we’re optimistic about its implementation.”Medical student Samagyan Mohanty welcomed the healthcare education initiatives. “Unlike previous years, the government has committed to adding 10,000 medical seats next year and 75,000 seats over the next five years. This is good news to me,” she noted.IT employee Swastik Reddy felt the budget concentrated on middle-class families. “Even though it is a huge burden for the central government to remove the tax on people earning upto one lakh per month, I’m glad they did it.”Kunta Bhavani, a businesswoman, 41 years old, said, “I run a small food and snack manufacturing setup. With the budget concentrating more on smaller industries, I believe it will be very beneficial to those like me.”
