Nalgonda: Following state government instructions, headmasters of government schools have started checking quality of food of mid-day meals before serving them to students. It was also found during a visit of government schools that food was served to students as per the menu i.e. rice, mixed vegetable curry, sambar and boiled eggs on Friday. Jonnalagadda Vijayalakshmi, headmaster of Mandal Praja Parishad School at Kathalguda in Nalgonda, ate the food before serving it to students. She checked the quality of all items. After ‘OK” from the headmaster, the cooking staff served the food to students. Vijayalakshmi said that the total strength of students was 120. We are ensuring a hygienic atmosphere at the kitchen where the mid-day meal was prepared. Not only food, the staff of the school were allowing students to consume drinking water after checking it at the beginning of the school in the morning. K Srinivas, a student, said that quality food was served to them every day as per the menu. The food serving staff were also checking the cleanliness of plates before placing food in them. If the plate was not neat, they ask the students to clean the plate once again, he added. In Nalgonda town, headmaster K Shankaraih checked the quality of food before serving it to students in Government High School of Bottuguda. As per instructions, he was not only checking the cooked food, but also raw rice, green vegetables and others before cooking.
