HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court on Friday ordered personal notice to MIM legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi in a criminal appeal filed by advocate Karuna Sagar of the BJP legal cell, who challenged the acquittal in a hate speech case passed by the special sessions court for trial of cases against MPs and MLAs.
Several petitioners had challenged the acquittal, including Karuna Sagar, stating that were the complainants in police stations against Owaisi for his hate speeches. The court heard Karuna Sagar’s petition on Friday and adjourned the hearing to December 30.
On April 13, the special court had acquitted MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi in two hate speech cases delivered by him at Nizamabad on December 8, 2012, and Nirmal on December 22, 2012.
Besides, the Telangana High Court adjourned to November 11, a petition filed by SHO Mangalhat, against the rejection order in the remand dairy against Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh. Police had filed a criminal revision petition in the High Court, challenging the order from the 14th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court which rejected the police remand application for Raja Singh for his remarks against Islam and Prophet Mohammed.
