Hyderabad:The state government on Thursday sought four weeks’ time from the High Court to file its contention in the PILs seeking directions to resume the 11 acres of land allotted to BRS at Kokapet at throwaway prices by the previous government.Additional advocate general Mohammed Imran Khan requested the division bench, comprising acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice G. Radha Rani to give them four weeks to file the counter on the issue and the state government’s stand. The bench was dealing with two PILs challenging the land allocation and seeking to resume the 11 acres of land. The BRS government had in May 2023 approved the allotment of 11 acres, worth over `660 crore to the BRS for setting up an institute of excellence and HRD for a mere `37.53 crore. The petitioner`s contention was that the average price of land parcels auctioned in Kokapet was around `60 crore to `100 crore per acre.
