Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has directed the Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Recruitment Board (TREIRB) and the state government to conduct examination afresh for the post of art/craft teachers in two languages, English and Telugu, as specified in the 2023 notification. The court made it clear to the recruitment board to not deviate from the notification and to conduct the examination as early as possible. The court faulted the stand taken by TREIRB in conducting examinations for optional subjects like arts, craft and music only in English.Notification Nos. 6/2023 and 7/2023, dated 05.04.2023, specifically mentioned that “the question paper is bilingual i.e., English and Telugu’’. Therefore, the examination was supposed to be conducted in the two languages. However, the examination was conducted only in English, contrary to the notification. Candidates contended that the action of the TREIRB put those who had pursued their studies in Telugu medium in a disadvantageous position and approached the High Court.
