Visakhapatnam: The GVMC mayor, Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari, approved 81 agendas, while 1 item was postponed, and 1 item was rejected during the GVMC council meeting held on Thursday. This marked the first meeting in three days since the alliance government came to power. “Every corporator was given the opportunity to speak, and a 9-hour zero hour was implemented to facilitate change within the council,” stated Gandham Srinivasa Rao, TD Deputy Floor Leader. He added that the GVMC also gave every corporator a platform to speak, with a total of 83 items discussed, including inquiries into prior approvals. The council also cancelled the garbage tax, and a resolution against the privatisation of the steel plant was passed.Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari revealed that the GVMC council meeting included 48 items on the main agenda, 27 items on the supplementary agenda, and 8 items on the table agenda, amounting to 83 items in total. In the GVMC council meeting held on 25 September, all corporators raised issues related to their respective wards. The mayor emphasised that the commissioner has been instructed to address the concerns raised in each ward.
