ANANTAPUR: Religious gaiety and enthusiasm marked Rathotsavam on the seventh day of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams at Sri Kodandarama temple in Vontimitta of Kadapa district on Saturday.The traditional wooden chariot procession commenced at 10:30 am and glided along the streets of the temple till evening before reaching the Ratha Mandapam. Besides local devotees, residents from surrounding villages also pulled the mammoth wooden chariot with religious gaiety and enthusiasm. The Brahmarathotsavam began after offering poojas to utsava deities of Lord Kodandarama Swamy, Goddess Sita and Lakshmana. Additional EO of TTD Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, JEO Veerabrahmam, engineering officers, DyEO Natesh Babu and others participated in the festival. TTD authorities continued Annadanam and served water and butter milk to devotees under the scorching sun.
