Nizamabad: Timely response by the government doctor saved the life of a woman patient in a flight coming from Vijayawada to Hyderabad. The incident came to light on Sunday as the doctor Prathima Raj of Nizamabad Government General Hospital shared her experience with the colleagues. When travelling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad on January 30 in Air India flight, the staff of flight announced a medical emergency for a woman passenger.Anuradha, a cardiac patient suffered from a stroke and flight staff required medical treatment from any doctor passenger on board. There were few doctors travelling in the flight, but Dr Prathima Raj quickly reacted and began treatment to the victim. With the help of an emergency medical kit provided by the flight staff, she conducted CPR to the victim. The patient came to a normal situation with the timely treatment.Co-passengers and Air India flight staff thanked the doctor with the claps. After reaching Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, the family members of Anuradha and flight staff specially thanked Prathima Raj for the initiative. After reaching Nizamabad, the doctors and others also praised the government doctor for a timely helping hand. Prathima served as superintendent of GGH Nizamabad for the last six years.
