Hyderabad: The state government submitted to the Telangana High Court that news about scrapping of the proposed ‘Hyderabad Green Pharma city’ in Yacharam mandal of Rangareddy district was incorrect and unfounded. Principal secretary, revenue, Naveen Mittal informed the court that all claims that the government had taken a policy decision to scrap the Pharma City proposal were baseless. It was based on hearsay and no court can take it as primary evidence. He confirmed that the government adhered to GO 31 issued on June 1, 2016, for establishing the Pharma City. Mittal submitted these details in an affidavit, following the High Court directions to the government to give clarity on the status of the Pharma City plan. Landowners and farmers from various villages in Yacharam mandal have filed petitions before the court complaining that despite orders of the single bench of the High Court, the authorities were not entering their names in the revenue records nor issuing patta passbooks though the Pharma City plan, they contended, was scarpped. Following court orders, the principal secretary filed an affidavit in a petition filed by a farmer in Medipally, whose 10 acres land was notified for acquisition.
