Hyderabad: The GHMC is set to empower women as entrepreneurs, with a plan to establish 7,000 women-led enterprises across the city under the Indira Mahila Shakthi Scheme.This initiative includes setting up 6,000 individual enterprises and 1,000 group enterprises with a budget of Rs 410 crore. Commissioner Ilambarithi has directed officials to identify eligible beneficiaries and prioritise loan disbursements under the scheme by January 20. The commissioner also sought enrollment of eligible women into self-help groups and provision of financial assistance through bank linkages through a comprehensive micro credit plan. The plan, which aims to mobilize Rs 1,500 crore in bank linkages by March 2025, will be finalised later this month. Additionally, a micro credit plan worth Rs 500 crore is to be prepared and submitted by the end of December. The loan grounding process for these funds is expected to be completed by January.
