Four More Arrested in Chilkur Balaji Temple Priest Attack Case

Hyderabad: The Moinabad police on Saturday arrested four more persons for the attack on Chilkur Balaji temple head priest Dr C.S. Rangarajan earlier this week. With this, 18 accused have been arrested and remanded by the police.Moinabad inspector G. Pavan Kumar Reddy said eight more accused were to be arrested in the case. Those arrested on Saturday were identified as G. Ramadevi, A. Rajyalaxmi and B. Mukambika, all from Khammam district, and C. Jagadish from Visakhapatnam.They reportedly told the police that they were lured into joining the ‘Rama Rajyam Society’ on the promise of financial support and food by Veera Raghava Reddy, prime accused.“In September, Raghava Reddy created a website for the Rama Rajyam Society and called for applications. He promised a salary of Rs.20,000 per month to each member, and food, wherever they go. Since the society became operational only in January, none of them got any salary,” the inspector said.Raghava Reddy was arrested by the Moinabad police on February 9, after receiving a complaint from Dr Rangarajan alleging an attack on him at his residence early in the morning. Dr Rangarajan had alleged that he was forced to join the society by its founder Raghava Reddy.
