Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri CCS and Pocharam IT Corridor police arrested four persons for stealing from mobile phone shops in the Uppal Bagayat area. They were identified as Prabhat Singh, Nepal Singh, Tharun Pal Singh, and Parveen Singh, all from Rajasthan. Two others are absconding. Police said they would recce the shops at night, use crowbars and iron rods to lift the shutters and made away with the loot. They targeted mobile phones as they are easy to sell. They also carried chilli powder to ward off attacks.Two VIP cars with pending challansHyderabad: Police on Friday found two cars belonging to VIPs had thousands of rupees in pending challans.In the first instance, police stopped a car and found it had 28 unpaid challans for Rs.28,000 in penalties. The car was identified as belonging to former minister Sabita Indra Reddy’s second son Kaushik Reddy, sources disclosed.Another vehicle was found to have nine pending challans with a fine of Rs.3,145, belonging to BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy.Traffic police identified 108 vehicles with black screens on vehicle windows, sirens and multiple horns.City additional commissioner, traffic, P. Anand, over 2,000 multiple horns were identified and destroyed in Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki and other areas.Two nabbed for snatching chain in shared autoHyderabad: The Shamshabad CCS and Shadnagar police on Saturday arrested two persons identified as Pawan Kalyan and Joshua for allegedly snatching a chain from a woman passenger in a shared autorickshaw.Police were investigating a complaint by Saddula Vijayalaxmi a Mahbubnagar resident, who said that she had boarded an autorickshaw along with two men at around 7.20 pm on February 5.After travelling some distance, the two passengers stopped the vehicle, snatched her 2.5 tola gold chain and fled on a bike parked nearby.9 held for duping jeweller of goldHyderabad: The Central Crime Station (CCS) police booked one Ajay Guglia and eight of his associates, confidence tricksters, who cheated a wholesale jeweller of 1.2 kg of gold worth Rs.1.1 crore.According to the complainant Vijay Kumar Jain, Guglia landed in his office in November last in Basheerbagh, and offered to market his jewellery on a commission basis. For about two months, all went well.In January, Kumar through Guglia supplied 508 grams of gold to a jeweller in Somajiguda. On January 11, one Nitin, claiming to be the purchaser, said he had received only 296 grams of gold. On January 21, Nitin’s so-called assistant Rahul Pandre collected the remaining 168 grams of gold from Kumar.The same day Nitin collected another 332 grams of gold from Kumar to deliver it to another jeweller, Krishnakumar, at Nallakunta. However, they did not make any payment and did not respond to calls.On February 3, Kumar’s son Anand and staff reached out to the purchaser and realised they had been defrauded.Based on their complaint, police arrested Ajay Guglia, Nikhil Kothari, Nitin, Krishnakumar, Rahul Pandre, Naveen and others.3 students end life in separate incidentsHyderabad: Three teenage students died by suicide in twin cities in separate incidents in the last 24 hours.At Filmnagar, a 17-year-old student died by suicide at his house. His mother was away at work. His sister found his body and neighbours called the police.Police found a note in the victim’s pocket which purportedly said: “Nobody is responsible for my death.” Police said he had scored low marks in an examination.At Kandikalgate, Avuri Shiva Charan, 19, died by suicide at his house in SRT Colony, Danishnagar. Police said he wanted a high-end phone which is mother,Vijaya Lakshmi, a tailor and single parent, could not buy immediately, Chatrinaka police said. He died by suicide when his mother and sister were away.At Hafeezbabanagar, a 16-year-old girl died by suicide at her house. Police said she had had an argument over domestic issues with her elder sister.
