BENGALURU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Central Parliamentary Board member and former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Thursday asserted the party workers of his party would continuously fight to mount pressure on the State Government until it rolls back its anti-people policies of hike in essential commodities such as milk, curds, diesel among others.Yediyurappa, at the day/night protest in Freedom Park of Bengaluru city, stated the protests of BJP would be held across the State and “It is the duty of his party to fight State Government’s wrong policies.”State BJP president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra accused the State Government as “brazen” and there is no option left for the party other than to take to streets against his rise in prices of essential commodities.“The protest in Freedom Park is not the end but a start to fight as a responsible opposition party,” said Vijayendra and stated the protest in Freedom Park infused enthusiasm among party workers. On Saturday, he said, protests against rise in essential prices will be held in all districts and taluks while on April 7, ‘Jana Aakrosh Yatra’ will be held in Mysuru.Reacting to the participation of Yediyurappa in the protest at Freedom Park, expelled BJP MLA and a bitter critic of Yediyurappa, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal told reporters in Bengaluru, Yediyurappa took part in the BJP protest in support of his son B.Y. Vijayendra, State unit head of BJP.Yatnal termed Yediyurappa’s taking part in the protest not for BJP but only for his son and accused Yediyurappa of having a dream to elevate his Vijayendra as the Chief Minister one day.He alleged Yediyurappa plans to ‘loot’ the State and stashed his property in Mauritius, Dubai and other places but is eager to own assets around the world. “Not for poor or for farmers but to cement Vijayendra’s position in the party.” Yatnal said.
