Congress has no respects for Babasaheb, shedding ‘crocodile tears’

Hyderabad: Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, while flaying Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, asserted that the BJP came to power thrice owing to backing from Dalits. Sanjay Kumar averred that the Congress insulted Babasaheb B.R. Ambedkar many times and termed the concern being shown by the party just as crocodile tears. These remarks were made while he was interacting with reporters at the party headquarters in Hyderabad.Speaking further, the Union minister said, “If Congress leaders have respects for Ambedkar then why were they not paying tributes at the NTR Ghat. The moot point was not who built the statue. Was it not built with money from the public exchequer? Congress could not secure even 100 seats as the party had lost the confidence of Dalits.” Earlier, addressing the media on the 100 birth anniversary of former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, the Union minister and BJP leader said, “Congress had surpassed Goebbels in spreading falsehoods, and if there were an Oscar for spreading lies, it would go to Congress. Why did Congress never award Bharat Ratna to Ambedkar, despite announcing the award for 21 others, including Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Kamaraj, between 1954 and 1988?”Speaking about the visionary leaderships of the former prime minister, Bandi said that Vajpayee was a leader who showcased India’s glory and moral values to the world. He was an inspiration to the people of the country. His leadership acumen in the Pokhran nuclear tests, execution of the Golden Quadrilateral projects, and rural roads scheme were noteworthy contributions to the country. Even when many leaders from other political parties were ready to support the NDA government in Parliament, Vajpayee stood firm on his principles and integrity and lost his position as a result. The Union minister garlanded the portrait of former prime minister at the BJP state office in Nampally. BJP state president and Union minister G. Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha member and BJP OBC morcha national president Dr. K. Lakshman, party state general secretary Kasam Venkateswarlu, SC morcha national secretary S. Kumar, and others were also present on the occasion.
