Karimnagar: IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Monday reiterated the Congress government’s commitment to people-centric governance and Ambedkar’s vision of justice, equity, and upliftment of the underprivileged. The minister laid foundation stones for multiple development projects in Manthani constituency of Peddapalli district on the occasion of Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary.Accompanied by district collector Koya Sriharsha, Sridhar Babu said the state is working in line with Ambedkar’s ideology and the Indian Constitution, with public welfare at the core of its agenda.The minister announced funding for key infrastructure works, including Rs 11.90 crore for Ekhlaspur-Khammampally road restoration, Rs 30 crore for a 15-km BT road between Khammampally and Odedu, and Rs 60 crore for a 19-km stretch from Manthani to Odedu. An additional Rs 2 crore was allocated for road and power works near Pagulagutta temple.He thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for their support in realising the projects and urged officials to ensure the quality of road works for a 15-year lifespan. Highlighting welfare initiatives, Sridhar Babu noted that the Congress government resolved the long-pending SC categorisation issue, implemented the SC/ST sub-plan, and sanctioned a Rs 1 crore SC Community Hall with a study circle in Manthani.He listed various schemes such as free RTC bus travel for women, Rs 500 LPG cylinders, 200 free electricity units, subsidised rice, and an Rs 1,800 crore bonus for fine rice farmers. Under Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, large-scale subsidies are being extended for self-employment ventures.Additionally, 3,500 Indiramma houses have been sanctioned per constituency, Rs 200 crore is being spent on Young India Gurukuls, and Rs 20,681 crore in farm loans have been waived.
