MUMBAI:  The Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde has asked the respective regional chief minister offices to resolve the issue at their end in an effort to shorten the time-consuming administrative process. CM Shinde said that they want to reduce the flow of people who flock to mantralaya in Mumbai for their work.

“Why should people travel all the way from some part of Vidarbha or western Maharashtra to get their work done? Rather than asking people to come to Mumbai, we should go to people. The government should be at people’s door with all services,” Shinde said.

He said that they have constituted regional chief minister offices in respective regions so that people can visit CMO offices in their region.

The regional CMO are located in Nasik, Pune, Nagpur, Amarawati, Aurangabad, Konkan.

“These CMOs will receive the complaints of the local people and resolve them. Earlier, all applications were sent to CMO, Mumbai, now there is decentralization of power. The speed of the work and efficiency will also increase and there will be no delay in approval procedure. We have to take people oriented work. This will also bring transparency in the system,” Shinde added.

Shinde said that the regional CMOs will also keep the details of the work that has been done by them.

“People should get the receipt of their applications, reminder letter and solving date. All these details should be compiled and sent to CMO, Mumbai. This will have indirect watch on every office and will bring accountability as well. The regional CMO will have enough officers and manpower to address the issues,” said an official.
