Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy praised the doctors of Osmania General Hospital for their remarkable achievement in performing a complex surgery. In a post sharing a news clipping on X, he stated, “The notion that government hospitals can’t deliver exceptional care has been shattered. The doctors at Osmania General Hospital have proven that with determination, the impossible becomes possible. Special congratulations to Dr. Ranga Ajmira, Dr. Vikram, and their team for setting an inspiring example for doctors and staff in government hospitals across the state.”The patient, 22-year-old Hemanth from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, was admitted to Osmania General Hospital after experiencing severe difficulty in breathing while traveling to Shirdi. Initially, he was taken to a private hospital by his family, but the hospital refused admission due to the complexity of the case.He was then shifted to Osmania General Hospital, despite it being a holiday when staff availability is generally limited. General Surgery Department conducted tests and an ultrasound revealed a perforated intestine.Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ranga Ajmeera and Assistant Professor Dr. Vikram, the team successfully performed the surgery. Hemanth was kept under observation for ten days, during which he made a steady recovery. He was discharged on Thursday, April 17, according to the doctors.
