Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday demanded that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi include caste census in the population census to be conducted from January 2025. Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, he reminded that the Congress government in Telangana passed a resolution in the Cabinet demanding that the Central government implement caste census across the country. The same was also demanded by the Congress MP Rahul Gandhi at various platforms, he said. Referring to the ongoing election campaign in Maharashtra, Revanth Reddy said Modi has nothing new to inform the people of Maharashtra during the campaign. “As he (Modi) has no success story related to Maharashtra, he is blaming the Opposition parties,” Revanth Reddy explained. “We read about the great warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Indian Constitution Chief Architect Dr. BR Ambedkar and Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray during our childhood days. But we are now seeing ‘power hungry’ leaders like Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar,” he said. As both Shinde and Pawar were trying to come back to power by telling lies to people, the people of Maharashtra must defeat them in the elections, he added.
