Vijayawada:Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday warned of imprisonment to those who resort to land grabbing.”Beware, those who grab even a cent of land will face the consequences. If anyone resorts to land grabbing, cheating and blackmailing, he will be jailed immediately,” Naidu said while addressing a Revenue Sadassu at Edupugallu of Penamaluru assembly segment in Krishna district.He promised to take necessary steps to resolve the land issues in an amicable manner and said the government will abide by the rules.Stating that the errors in resurvey will be corrected soon, Naidu said his government’s motive is that ‘justice should be done to all’.”You have elected the Telugu Desam-led alliance to form the government with 57 per cent of the votes. You reposed immense faith in us. We have been striving hard for the past six months to fulfil your aspirations,” Naidu observed.Regretting that the previous government had completely destroyed all the systems, the chief minister felt that the YSRC government had created a worse situation with the Land Titling Act.He said over three lakh people attended the revenue Sadassulu through which 95,263 petitions have been received.Naidu promised to provide QRCode on passbooks and geotagging facility through which the land records can be examined anytime. A sum of `12 crore had to be spent to simply delete former CM Jagan Reddy’s photos on stones, he said.Revenue Sadassulus are being conducted at almost all the villages in the state beginning December 6 till January 8.Naidu promised to take personal responsibility to hand back all seized land to the real owners. The provisions of the land grabbing act are so severe that stringent action will be taken against those who resort to illegal land grabbers, he said.He also referenced the extensive complaints regarding inaccurate surveys and fraudulent land deals, saying that over 279,148 grievances have been reported.The Chief Minister said the government introduced the Land Grabbing Prohibition Act of 2024, which will enforce strict penalties on those attempting to illegally occupy someone else’s land.”For anyone unlawfully seizing land, the repercussions will be severe, including imprisonment and fines based on the value of the seized land,” he warned.
