Visakhapatnam: Consoling the grieving family members of Madhusudhan Rao and Chandra Mouli who were killed in terrorist attack at Pahalgam in Kashmir, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan stated that this is a clear case of religiously motivated violence. “The terrorists created fear and committed these acts to sow division between Hindus and Muslims. They believed that by killing Hindus and sparing Muslims, they could incite communal violence. But under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, whoever is behind these attacks, even if it’s Pakistan, will face the consequences.”The Deputy Chief Minister on Thursday visited the family of Chandra Mouli, the retired bank employee from Visakhapatnam who was killed in Tuesday’s terrorist attack in Kashmir and consoled the grieving family members, who wept bitterly while recounting the incident. He assured the family that the government would stand by them during this difficult time. “The incident in Kashmir is deeply saddening and has disturbed me heavily. This tragedy has shaken the world. Kashmir has been struggling for so long,” he said.Pawan said, “I have personal connections to Kashmir dating back to 1986-88 when many Telugu film shootings were done there. I’ve worked in Kashmir during that period and witnessed how disturbing the situation became. The first year was peaceful. The attacks started later. During that time, I remember Pujaris telling me they couldn’t stay there anymore as the area was becoming increasingly unsafe for them.”The Deputy Chief Minister said, “This morning, when I visited Madhusudhan house, his family informed me that the terrorists specifically targeted them after identifying them as Hindus. This is a clear case of religiously motivated violence. A husband was killed in front of his wife, and a father was murdered before his son’s eyes. Such tragedies shouldn’t happen to anyone. Madhusudhan was killed in front of his son. Now, that boy has lost faith in God, asking why such an incident would occur if God existed.”Kalyan said that after speaking with the family members, he was reluctant to address the media. “We shouldn’t sugar-coat what happened. People often say there is no religion for terrorism. But, in this Kashmir incident, it’s clearly an attack targeting Hindus. I’m not trying to create chaos or disturbance, but we must acknowledge the facts.”He said, “When I saw Chandra Mouli’s body, a part of his skull was missing. Despite our cultural and religious differences, this is a time when we should all stand united.”Kalyan said, “We must distinguish between terrorism and the regular political disputes we have in our state. Terrorism must be eliminated fully. I’ve asked all political party members and my team to rally together. Though this happened in Kashmir, it affects our entire country and all our people. We must unite on this issue.”The Deputy CM said, “When the incident occurred, I wasn’t aware that people from Andhra Pradesh were involved. I request home minister Vangalapudi Anita, Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take strict action against those creating anti-social content on social media and spreading anti-Indian rhetoric” This, he said, is not the time for divisive talk. “This was clearly an attack on Hindus.”Kalyan concluded: “We must put an end to this. While some advocate borderless countries in the name of secularism, I firmly believe borders must exist and be secured properly. This is not the time for pseudo-secularism.”
