Hyderabad: A bus helper confined a woman passenger and allegedly raped her twice in a private that was on its way to AP after threatening her, Kukatpally police said on Sunday. The accused, Sai Kumar Reddy, has been arrested.This is the second incident of its kind in the city. On July 3, a co-driver was arrested for raping a woman on board a moving bus. The suspect, Krishna, was apprehended near Nacharam. Krishna had engaged the victim in conversation and raped in the bus which had about 30 passengers at that time.In the latest incident, Sai Kumar met the victim as she was boarding a bus (AP07 TT 6633) to travel to her native place Samarlakota, AP, from Kukatpally. On spotting her travelling alone, police said, he struck up a conversation.He then told the victim to shift to another seat as the bus would get crowded. He gave her a drinking water bottle and continued the conversation. He then muzzled her and raped her.Sai Kumar then threatened the victim that he would murder her if she revealed the incident to anybody and assaulted her for a second time, police said.Later, the victim managed alight from the bus when it halted at a stop and called travel company owner Anil Reddy. Police said that Anil Reddy along with the victim lodged a complaint with the Choutuppal police who booked a zero FIR and transferred the case to the Kukatpally police.Kukatpally police on Sunday in presence of woman police recorded the victim’s complaint and registered a case (1215 of 2024) and arrested Sai Kumar.
