City Shooter Rushed to Rajasthan’s Gogunda to Trap Man-Eating Leopard

Hyderabad: The city’s renowned shooter Nawab Shafat Ali Khan has been called to Udaipur to aid in the capture or elimination of a man-eating leopard that is terrorising Gogunda villages. The leopard, referred to locally as ‘adamkhor panther,’ has claimed eight lives in the last 24 hours, leaving the region in a state of panic.The latest incident occurred in Kelwon Ka Kheda, where a woman was attacked and killed by a leopard while working outside her home.In response to the repeated ferocious attacks, the principal chief conservator of the Rajasthan Wildlife Division, Pawan Kumar Upadhyay, issued orders to shoot the animal on sight.The forest department, along with 12 shooters from the state, has been actively searching for the elusive predator.Khan arrived in Gogunda on Wednesday to assess the situation. He said that he had gathered information about the attacks from senior officials, including the chief conservator of forests (CCF) Sunil Chidri and divisional forest officer (DFO) Ajay Chittora, at a local school in Rathore’s Guda village. Soon thereafter, Khan and his team set off into the forest to track down the deadly panther.The situation has escalated to the point where 12 platoons of police have been deployed in the region to ensure the safety of residents. Over the past 12 days, the ‘adamkaur panther’ has been responsible for multiple attacks, making it one of the most dangerous wildlife threats the area has faced in years.
