Adilabad: The cabinet sub-committee on Rythu Bharosa scheme will take opinions from farmers at a programme in Pipri village in Bajarhathnoor mandal of Adilabad district on July 11. The state government would extend financial assistance under the scheme to farmers for two seasons in a year. The committee led by chairman Bhatti Vikramarka, members D Sridhar Babu, Tummala Nageshwar Rao and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy will visit Pipri village. District in-charge minister Seethakka may accompany the sub-committee. It is said that modalities will be finalized after collecting opinions from farmers about the eligibility criteria for Rythu Bharosa. Based on the feedback from farmers, the sub-committee will recommend the number of acres to be covered for Ruythu Bhandu.It is said that during agriculture minister Thummala Nageshwar Rao’s interaction with farmers, a majority of farmers had opined that it would be good if the scheme covers up to 10 acres for each farmer. It is said that some of the farmers had suggested a limit between 5 acres and 10 acres for Rythu Bharosa. The farmers also expressed their view that there was no need to provide Rythu Bharosa to agricultural lands owned by government employees and taxpayers. Given this background, the sub-committee would probe further to get feedback from the farmers and also on giving Rythu Bharosa to tenant farmers.The sub-committee would also explore whether there are any objections from the farmer’s side (land owners) to providing Rythu Bharosa and who will be the legal beneficiary for the scheme. It may be recalled here that Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka had launched his ‘People’s March’ from Pipri village in Bajarhathnoor mandal on March 16, 2023. He began padayatra as a CLP leader then.Congress party sources said an interaction with 150 farmers would be arranged at Pipri village to get feedback from farmers and interaction of the sub-committee with farmers would be conducted in a few erstwhile districts in the state.The state government has asked the sub-committee to submit its report on July 15. The report will be tabled in the Assembly sessions.
