Hyderabad:A day after the BJP leader and Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajendar slapped a person in connection with a land dispute issue, he clarified on Wednesday that the BJP will rally behind innocent people who are victimised by realtors who grab lands illegally.Speaking to media persons at the BJP office, Rajendar said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had created HYDRAA to clear encroachments at lakes, nalas and other water bodies. But many real estate businessmen were encroaching private lands. Revenue and police officials were not responding to the myriad complaints lodged against such encroachments, he said. Explaining about the slapping incident, the BJP leader said that Ekashilanagar lands under the Pocharam municipality of Malkajgiri district were purchased in 1985 by employees working in various organizations at that time. There are 149 acres of land in Korremula village of Ghatkesar mandal in Medchal district from survey number 739 to 749. In 1985, at least 2086 plots were laid with the permission of the gram panchayat in the name of Ekashila nagar colony. Approximately, 2076 government and private employees had purchased plots of 200 yards each. “In 2005, the businessmen MA Raju, A Venkatesh and A Vijaya Bhasker posed as owners and made a sale deed of land over 47 acres under the respective names. In 2006, these three created fake documents to claim that they had purchased the land. The Supreme Court ruled that it was not agricultural land,” he said. It was concluded that they were all plots and not agricultural land. Accordingly, 700 people built houses obtaining all due permissions. The panchayat secretary’s report says that one Venkatesh was behind this incident. “Yesterday, when we went to the field, some goons confronted us. At least 20-25 goons claiming to be watchmen came and violently demolished the house. Even after that, they built a shed and razed it to the ground by miscreants”, Rajender said.Rajendar also mentioned about another victim Rajitha, who continued to live on the land along with her son. The goons did not spare her house also, he said.
