Bear tastes biscuits, routinely visits godown

ANANTAPUR: A bear enjoyed biscuits and caused damage to large stocks in a godown at Kalyandurg town in Anantapur district. The wild animal entered the godown for the second time this week and enjoyed biscuits and damaged packets before returning to the forests.The wild animal’s entry and exit in the warehouse were recorded on CC cameras on the godown premises.Karanam Raghavendra Gowd runs a biscuits agency and keeps the stocks in the godown at Dodagatta Road under Kalyandurg municipality. When biscuit packets were found torn and scattered, Gowd verified the CCTV footage and was shocked to find the bear entering and exiting the warehouse on Monday last.However, the same bear entered on Saturday and caused similar damage to the stocks. The agency informed the forest officials. Bears cause a stir in the area. Six bears were seen roaming in the hills near Kanaganapalli, Mandalapalli and Bestarapalli villages in Kundurpi mandal.
