Visakhapatnam:David Eaggleston, Deputy Consul General of the Australian Consulate, and First Secretary Grace Williams visited the Visakhapatnam Port Authority on Friday. Durgesh Kumar Dubey, Deputy Chairperson of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority, welcomed them and presented a PowerPoint on the facilities and strategic initiatives undertaken at the port. Dubey highlighted that India is a significant importer of coking coal from Australia, essential for steel production. The Deputy Consul General expressed satisfaction with Australia’s contributions to India’s energy requirements and showed interest in enhancing cruise opportunities at the port. The officials discussed various topics, including business facilitation, customs clearance, port connectivity, and cruise passenger management.
