Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has informed the High Court that it will replace the defective bullet proof vehicle allotted to former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy with a one in good condition.A single judge bench, headed by Justice B.V.L.N. Chakravarthi, held a hearing on a petition here on Wednesday filed by Jagan Mohan Reddy stating that the state government had reduced his security cover without taking into consideration the threat to his life.Advocate-General Dammalapati Srinivas informed the court that the bullet proof vehicle allotted to the former CM would be repaired and would be placed at his service. He also submitted that in the meantime another bullet proof vehicle would be allotted to him.The court opined that as Jagan Mohan Reddy is a former CM, there was a need to allot a bullet proof vehicle which is in good condition to him.Based on a plea that security cover was reduced to him, the court directed the Union home ministry and the state government to file their counters in two weeks and directed the petitioner to file his counter on the counters filed by the duo, in a week. After hearing both the parties, the court adjourned the case for next hearing to August 28.
