AP appoints ABV as APPHCL chairman, RP Thakur as advisor

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh government appointed two retired IPS officers to key positions on Saturday.Retired IPS officer A.B. Venkateswara Rao was named chairman of Andhra Pradesh Police Housing Corporation Limited (APPHCL) for a two-year term. Rao, who was suspended during the previous YSRC government, was recently reinstated by the current administration. His suspension period has now been regularised, making him eligible for full pay and allowances.In another development, the government appointed RP Thakur, a 1986-batch IPS officer, as an advisor to the state government for two years. A former Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh, Thakur will be based at AP Bhavan in New Delhi.The specific terms of his advisory role will be issued separately.
