We have seen superstars doing sequels from Kamal Haasan to Rajinikanth and Prabhas to All Arjun, now it is the turn of lady superstar and A-lister Anushka Shetty to do a sequel to her earlier blockbuster ‘Bhaagmathie’. “We are planning to make ‘Bhaagmathie 2’ and it would have a bigger canvas. Anushka would be seen in a more powerful and intriguing avatar and her looks will be fascinating,” says director Ashok who tasted success with his psychological thriller in 2018.The original story revolved around an IAS officer Chanchala Reddy (Anushka) who is imprisoned in a haunted house, while she is interrogated by law enforcers investigating a politician they suspect of corruption and weird things begin to happen in the palace. “I can’t reveal more details since it is going to start sometime next year and work is underway,” he cuts short.So, Anushka who took a break from films for a few years, returned with the bold but breezy entertainer ‘Miss Shetty Mister Polishetty’. Now, setting a trend of a top-rung heroine agreeing to do a second part. She has been a torch bearer of women-centric movies in Telugu and her sequel will encourage other makers to dish out women-centric sequels too.Anushka’s return has surely inspired filmmakers to come up with new ideas and she is going to headline ‘Ghaati’, a story of a woman caught in the weed trade and it is being directed by Krish. She is also making her debut in Malayalam with a path-breaking thriller ‘Kathanar-The Wild Sorcerer’ to expand her fan base.
