Andhra Pradesh to Install One Lakh Cameras by March

Vijayawada: AP DGP Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao inaugurated new facilities at Chirala One Town and Karamchedu police stations on Friday and launched an Integrated Command and Control System equipped with 210 CCTV cameras. The system includes public address units, drone surveillance, LED monitors, and a repeater network for real-time monitoring.The DGP announced the goal of installing one lakh cameras statewide by March to enhance surveillance, improve public safety, and reduce crime. He encouraged citizens and philanthropists to support this initiative by installing CCTV cameras in their communities, assuring necessary assistance from the police department. Tirumala Rao highlighted recent successes through technology, including the rescue of pilgrims at Suryalanka Beach and the recovery of a kidnapped infant in Vijayawada. He stressed that advanced tools like drones and body-worn cameras are transforming policing. The DGP also inaugurated a waiting hall for police personnel at Karamchedu Police Station, accompanied by Guntur Range IG Sarvashresth Tripathi and Bapatla SP Tushar Dudi.
