Karimnagar/ Warangal: Telangana is set to conduct Graduate and Teacher MLC elections across several erstwhile districts, including Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Khammam, Warangal, and Medak. The polling will take place on February 27 between 8 am and 4 pm, with the Graduate MLC elections being held in the combined districts of Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad, and Medak, while the Teacher MLC seats will be contested in Nalgonda, Khammam, and Warangal. The election campaign concluded on Tuesday, February 25, at 4 pm, prompting a 72-hour closure of liquor shops in the region. A total of 56 candidates are vying for the Graduate MLC seat with 3,55,159 registered voters, while 15 candidates are competing for the Teacher MLC seat with 27,088 voters in the combined constituency of Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad, and Medak. The Election Commission has established 210 polling stations for the Graduate MLC elections in the combined Karimnagar district — 51 in Jagtial, 85 in Karimnagar, 28 in Rajanna Sircilla, and 36 in Peddapalli — with an additional 10 stations across Hanumakonda, Siddipet, and Bhupalpally to ensure convenient access for voters. For the Teacher MLC elections in the same area, a total of 74 polling stations have been set up, distributed as 20 in Jagtial, 18 in Karimnagar, 13 in Rajanna Sircilla, 14 in Peddapalli, plus another 9 in Hanumakonda, Siddipet, and Bhupalpally. In addition, nine polling stations have been designated for the Teacher MLC elections in the erstwhile Warangal district — covering 628 voters across Nalgonda, Khammam, and Warangal constituencies — with these stations organised into six routes and supported by four striking forces and two special striking forces to ensure tight security.
