Kothagudem: Chunchu Ramakrishna, the state convener of nine sects of adivasis in Telangana, urged political parties to stop making a mess of the Scheduled Tribe list to gain political mileage. He said it is unfair for the government to add more STs in the list.
“The adivasis in Telangana are suffering due to 40 lakh from Gore Banjara sects being included in ST list. Efforts are on to add another 40 lakh Valmiki and Benthu Oriya into the list. We adivasis fear living in two Telugu states,” he said.
“The adivasis adapted to civilisation of India. The political parties are not showing any interest in development of adivasis. He said people living in the plains are identified as adivasis and their existence is in danger. The natural sources in adivasi areas are exploited and not a single rupee is spent for benefit of adivasis,” he alleged.
