Bengaluru: What was initially reported as a routine parking accident has now turned into a case of alleged fraud, negligence, and a cover-up attempt by a restaurant in Bengaluru, according to the vehicle owner.Divya Chhabra, a Bengaluru resident, has accused the restaurant’s valet staff of crashing her brand-new Mercedes-Benz, worth ₹1.4 crore, while allegedly using the luxury car to shoot Instagram reels.The incident occurred on February 26, 2025, when Chhabra and her family visited a restaurant in Marathahalli for lunch. Around 45 minutes after she handed over her car keys to a valet, the vehicle was found crashed into a basement wall.Chhabra claims that before she could inspect the scene, restaurant staff had already cleared the bricks and debris from the crash site, raising suspicions of a cover-up. CCTV footage later revealed that three valet staff members had taken turns driving the car and filming reels inside it.Instead of cooperating with authorities, Chhabra alleges that the restaurant’s owner filed a petition in the High Court seeking to quash the FIRs registered in connection with the incident.
