Peddapalli Collector Picks Govt. Hospital For Wife’s Delivery

KARIMNAGAR: In a demonstration of confidence in state-run healthcare, Peddapalli district collector Koya Sree Harsha’s wife, Vijaya, delivered a baby boy at the Government General Hospital in Godavarikhani late Saturday night.Vijaya was admitted after experiencing labour pains, and a specialist team — comprising senior gynaecologists, an anaesthetist and a neonatologist — performed a Caesarean section. Hospital officials confirmed that both mother and child are in stable condition after the procedure. Demonstrating his faith in government facilities, collector Harsha had ensured that all of his wife’s prenatal check-ups were conducted at the same hospital. “By choosing this institution for our family’s care, we stand by the competence of our medical staff and the quality of public infrastructure,” he said. An IAS officer of the 2017 batch who secured All India Rank 6 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, Koya Sree Harsha is renowned for his approachable style and dedication to public welfare. His decision to forego private care in favour of the Government General Hospital is being viewed as a deliberate effort to rebuild public trust in state healthcare services. Health officials and local people applauded the gesture while noting that middle-class families often hesitate to seek treatment at government hospitals.
