Hyderabad:The Telangana Agricultural Officers Association on Saturday welcomed the government’s decision to grant long-pending promotions and create new posts for agricultural staff.A delegation of officers met agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao at his residence, where the minister issued promotion orders for 18 junior development assistants (JDAs) and 43 deputy development assistants (DDAs). These promotions address a backlog dating to the state’s formation in 2014.In addition, the government approved 112 new agricultural officer positions aimed at bolstering services for the farmer community. The move was widely praised by association members, who gathered later at the Fateh Maidan Club to thank the administration.“This government has consistently worked for farmers’ welfare,” said G. Krupakar Reddy, general secretary of the association. “In response to our requests, new posts have been sanctioned. We now look forward to further promotions and essential support — such as mandal-level office budgets, computing equipment, and mobility facilities — to improve field operations.”
