Telangana Gets Global Praise For Development And Welfare

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said on Friday that delegates at the two-day Bharat Summit appreciated development programmes and welfare initiatives being undertaken by the Congress government in Telangana. He stated that several international participants showed interest in investing in the state. In a comprehensive presentation titled “Telangana Rising” at the summit on Friday, Bhatti highlighted how the Congress government was integrating its core ideology of social justice with developmental progress. He elaborated on key policy measures such as the caste census, sub-categorisation of Scheduled Castes, and enhancement of OBC reservations, all aimed at ensuring social justice, the uplift of marginalised communities and equitable access to opportunities. Outlining the government’s forward-looking initiatives, Bhatti spoke about the Clean and Green New Energy Policy with a target of generating 40,000 MW of power by 2035. He also detailed the development of clusters between the Regional Ring Road and the Outer Ring Road, the Future City initiative, the revitalisation of the Musi River, the establishment of a Knowledge and IT Centre, the Indira Giri Water Development Programme for tribals, the launch of Young India Integrated Residential Schools, and the Rajiv Youth Development Programme. These projects, he said, reflect the Congress government’s commitment to sustainable development and inclusive growth. Bhatti noted that Telangana’s alignment with Rahul Gandhi’s vision of global justice received wide appreciation from summit participants. He said the state’s efforts in promoting inclusive and equitable development found resonance with international delegates who are advocates of progressive and people-centric policies. Addressing a press conference later, Bhatti said the Congress was once again providing direction to the world, just as it did during the Cold War era through the Non-Aligned Movement led by former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Under the leadership of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, the Congress was reviving its global influence through the Bharat Summit, based on the principles of non-violence, truth and social justice. Describing the event as historic, Bhatti said the summit featured discussions across eight panels on key global issues like gender justice, feminist futures, countering disinformation and youth engagement in politics. With participation from over 100 countries, the summit served as a powerful platform to showcase Telangana’s achievements and vision to the world, Bhatti added.
