Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested two government officials in separate bribery cases.In Wanaparthy district, ACB teams caught Kondaiah, assistant engineer (Operations) with the Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL), at Ghanpur mandal after he demanded and accepted ₹10,000. The bribe was for expediting a power connection to a Distribution Transformer at Tirumala Agro Industries in Malkapur, ACB officials said.Meanwhile, in Peddapally district, Dumpala Sridhar Babu, a superintendent in the irrigation department’s Sulthanabad office, was arrested at his workplace for accepting ₹20,000. The amount – handed over through his colleague, senior assistant Mahadesini Suresh – was meant to secure preparation of the complainant’s pending High-Pressure Line (HPL) bill for 88 days.ACB teams recovered the tainted cash during sting operations. Kondaiah and Sridhar Babu were produced before the Nampally and Karimnagar courts respectively, and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. Identities of the two complainants have been withheld for their safety.
