MP Balram Naik Calls for Resistance to Waqf Act

WARANGAL: Thousands of Muslims and community leaders marched from the MRO office to the main bus stand here on Monday to protest the Centre’s proposed Waqf Board laws, accusing the BJP government of pursuing divisive politics. The rally was led by Mahbubabad MP Porika Balram Naik and saw participation from Government Chief Whip Dr Jatoth Ramachandra Naik, MLA Dr Bhukya Murali Naik and DCC president Jennareddy Bharat Chandra Reddy.Addressing the gathering, Porika Balram Naik condemned the new Waqf laws as “authoritarian” and part of a broader agenda to “divide the nation in the name of caste, religion and region.” He voiced support for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s nationwide “Desh Bachao, Modi Hatao” campaign, calling it a defence of constitutional rights.Naik invoked Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of unity and equality, urging the Muslim community and allied parties to persist until the controversial legislation is withdrawn. The protesters demanded immediate repeal of the proposed Waqf regulations and reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding their religious and civil rights.
