HYDRAA Removed Structures Raised By AP TDP MLA At Hafeezpet

Hyderabad: The HYDRAA on Saturday removed unauthorised structures on government land at Hafeezpet that were raised by Mylavaram’s Telugu Desam MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad of Andhra Pradesh.HYDRAA stated that out of the 39.2 acres of government land at Hafeezpet in Serilingampally municipality, houses and other structures were raised on 19 acres. In the remaining 20.2 acres, the agency claimed that Vasantha Projects, owned by the MLA, had illegally subdivided the survey number, constructed an office structure, raised sheds and rented them to different businesses.HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath said: “While the land was under litigation, they sold almost 20 acres after construction. Now, the remaining 20 acres are also being sold out under the pretext of ULC (urban land ceiling) etc.” They took permissions under the pretext of ULC and kept the Civil Suit 14 (CS-14) issue masked from authorities, he said.Authorities, amid heavy police security, razed the structures to the ground. They also placed boards on the land, stating that it was under litigation in the Supreme Court, and that the site was protected by HYDRAA.Speaking to the media, MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad said “HYDRAA gave us a notice, and I personally submitted my property documents to Ranganath. He said he’ll contact me if he has any queries about the property, but did not inform me about razing the building.”
