Nellore: Tirupati MP Dr Maddila Gurumoorthy has alleged that the state was implementing a “Red Book Constitution” that disrespects the values enshrined in Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution.Speaking at a programme held at the YSRC office in Nellore on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, the MP led party members in paying rich floral tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution. In his address, Dr Gurumoorthy stated that while Ambedkar’s Constitution is being upheld across the country, Andhra Pradesh is witnessing a parallel system of governance that violates its principles.“It is unfortunate that governance in the state is moving in a direction that insults Dr Ambedkar’s vision and the Constitution he framed. What we see here is a disturbing dominance of corruption and unrest,” he remarked. He expressed concern over growing political vendetta in the state, saying it amounts to dishonouring the Constitution.“Villages are being emptied. People are being forced to choose between supporting the ruling party or leave their homes. Those who support the YSRC are facing intimidation and violence,” the MP alleged.Dr Gurumoorthy said he has taken legal recourse against such incidents and has filed complaints with the National SC and ST Commissions. However, he accused the state government of misleading the commissions by submitting false reports.Reaffirming his party’s commitment, Dr Gurumoorthy said, “We in the YSRC will fight with full force to realise the society envisioned by Dr Ambedkar.”The event was also attended by MLCs Chandrasekhar Reddy and Merugu Muralidhar, senior YSRC leader Anam Vijayakumar Reddy and several others who paid homage to Dr Ambedkar and reiterated their resolve to uphold his ideals.
