Visakhapatnam: A group of about 30 students from Pendurthi AI Digital missed their JEE Advanced examinations in Visakhapatnam, allegedly due the convoy of Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan passing through the area.Students say they arrived just minutes after the 8:30 a.m. deadline for the exam, set to begin at 9 am.Anil, a parent whose daughter Neetu had been among those denied entry to the exam, said, “We reached only two minutes late as all traffic had been stopped because of the convoy.”Parents have written letters seeking intervention from Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, education minister Nara Lokesh, and the Deputy CM hoping for a solution to the issue. However, Visakhapatnam city police refuted claims that the convoy had caused the delay. According to a statement released by the police, the convoy passed through the area at 8:41 a.m. well after the 8:30 a.m. gate closure time.Police emphasised that candidates had to report by 7:00 am as per instructions on their admit card. They maintained that no traffic had been blocked on the BRTS or service roads before 8:30 am to ensure smooth access to the examination centre.
