Adilabad: Nearly 10,000 Lambada Sevalal devotees took out a padayatra from Kothapalli in Narnoor of Adilabad district to Poharadevi temple and Sevalal Maharaj mandir in Maharashtra’s Washim district.They began the ‘Kothapalli deekshabhomi’ on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi after taking deeksha under the guidance of Premsingh Maharaj, who also participated in the padayatra. The 300-km padayatra will also commemorate Sri Rama Navami and conclude at Poharadevi temple. The devotees belong to various Telangana districts, including Adilabad, Mancherial, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Medak and Kothagudem and Chandrapur district in Maharashtra. Sevalal devotees strongly believe that their wishes will be fulfilled with the blessings of Sant Sevalal Maharaj and Poharadevi. For the Banjara community, Poharadevi temple is a second Kashi. Villagers en route arranged for meals for the devotees, who took the Mahore route. The Sevalal deeksha will be for 41 days, during which time the devotees will have only one vegetarian meal every day and perform puja to their gods and goddesses, including Jagadamba Matha, Sevalal and Ramarao Maharaj. The men wear pink shirts and a white pants, while women wear white blouses and a pink sari. Bhukya Bharathi Bai of CCC Naspur of Macherial said she has been taking the deeksha for the past few years and added that her husband, a SCCL worker, who used to fall ill regularly was cured after he undertook the deeksha. Jatoth Raju Naik of Anarpalli in Narnoor mandal of Adilabad district said he was feeling good and his family members were living a happy life since the time he took Sevalal deeksha. The padayatra entered Maharashtra late Friday night.
