DCA busts unlicensed manufacturing drugs unit in Sangareddy

Hyderabad: Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) busted the unlicensed manufacturing of drugs at Prosafe Biologicals LLP in Mallepalle village at Kondapur Mandal in Sangareddy. Stocks worth Rs.54.75 lakh were seized during the raid. In a separate raid, the DCA seized Prokalk-Z Drops (Zinc Gluconate Oral Drops) in Mancherial, which were falsely manufactured and sold under the guise of food products and nutraceuticals, according to a press release issued on Friday. The DCA officials, acting on credible information, conducted a raid at Prosafe Biologicals LLP at Mallepalle village and detected unlicensed manufacturing of drugs. During the raid, DCA officers detected the unlicensed manufacturing of certain liquid orals, including Bacillus clausii Oral Suspension (2 billion spores/5 ml) manufactured and sold under the brand name Gutwell. They also seized Bacillus clausii Oral Suspension (2 billion spores/5 ml), claimed to contain polyantibiotic-resistant spores, intended for the export market. The officials seized stocks worth Rs. 54.75 lakh during the raid and lifted samples for analysis. The products were falsely manufactured under a ‘food license (FSSAI license)’ and wrongly claimed to be a food supplement. As per the label composition, the products were classified as drugs under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act- 1940, and must mandatorily be manufactured under a ‘drug license’ issued under the Act, adhering strictly to the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) outlined in Schedule-M of the Drugs Rules. Additionally, they must comply with the quality standards prescribed in the Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP), as mandated. In a separate raid, the DCA officials detected drugs falsely manufactured in Mancherial and sold under the guise of ‘food products and nutraceuticals’. They detected the product Prokalk-Z Drops (Zinc Gluconate Oral Drops) circulating in the market. The product was found to be manufactured by Ziexa Healthcare, Delhi and marketed by Curezen Pharma Private Limited, Vijayanagar Colony, Hyderabad. The product was falsely manufactured under a ‘food license (FSSAI license)’ and falsely claimed to be a food product and nutraceutical.
