AIYF criticises Modi government for keeping mum on mistreatment of deported Indians

Hyderabad: The All India Youth Federation (AIYF) flayed the Centre for its silence on the highhanded behaviour of the US authorities on Indian citizens who were deported earlier this month and attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence on the matter. In a protest held in Himayatnagar, the AIYF activists condemned the manner in which 104 Indians were sent back with shackles on their legs and handcuffs. They also consigned to the flames, a flexi of US President Donald Trump.AIYF state president Vali Ulla Khadri said, “The BJP government which waxes eloquent about guarding national interests did not even demand dignified treatment of its citizens. Whenever Modi visits the US, crores of money is spent on propaganda. Those who organised ‘Howdy Modi’ and ‘Namaste Trump’ programmes didn’t bother to help the 104 Indians come home with respect. This is a diplomatic failure of the central government.”Kalluru Dharmendra, AIYF secretary, sought discussions by the centre with the US officials and guard the rights of Indians there. Those who participated in the protest included Kalyan, Anil Kumar, Madhu and Sanjay Kumar.
