Hyderabad: Those who want to apply for ration cards can do so in the Mee Seva centres, despite the model code of conduct being in effect in the state for the Legislative Council elections of February 27. The issuance of the cards will be done only after the code ends.Sources in the department said that beneficiaries can also seek addition of members and apply for a split in cards at the Mee Seva centres. Those who have given applications during Praja Palana and Prajavani programmes need not apply again. They reiterated that the process of issuing cards is a continuous process.They explained that that deputy tahsildar of the civil supplies department would verify the applications in the field. Approved applications will move up the chain from the mandal revenue officer to the district civil supplies officer and then to the district collector and later to the commissioner, civil supplies, for final approval.
