Hyderabad: A local court in Nizamabad district sentenced half a dozen people to two days imprisonment for driving their vehicle in a drunken condition. Nizamabad Traffic Inspector P Prasad Kumar said the motorists, who got jail term, were T Santosh, Shaik Sayeed, C Anil Kumar, Vitobha, Anil and Shaik Imam Ali, all residents of different localities in Nizamabad. In all, the traffic police caught 17 people during a special drive conducted against drunken driving in the town. The Inspector counseled all the 17 people and produced them before the court, which sentenced six people to two days jail term and imposed a fine of Rs.15,500 on the remaining motorists. Prasad asked the motorists not to drive their vehicle after consuming liquor.
