Visakhapatnam: Vizianagaram police registered 250 cases in a single day as part of a special drive against public drinking. District SP Vakul Jindal warned of strict action against those disturbing public peace by consuming alcohol in open spaces.The operation covered villages, suburban areas, and towns, targeting individuals causing nuisance through alcohol consumption. “We have zero tolerance for public drinking and disturbances,” the SP stated, adding that similar drives will continue. In a parallel enforcement drive, police registered 393 cases for traffic violations, collecting ₹1,20,640 in e-challans. Checks were conducted at key intersections, along with awareness campaigns on road safety and helmet use.
