BENGALURU: Dissatisfied Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders of Karnataka team up against State BJP president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra and they decide to take their complaints against him to the top brass in New Delhi to hold another round of meeting before they spell out their action. The meeting in New Delhi will be held in a couple of days. A meeting was held at the residence of former minister and BJP leader Kumar Bangrappa in Sadashivanagar of Bengaluru on Friday and was attended by incumbent MLAs-B.P. Harish, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Chandrappa and Ramesh Jarkiholi, former MPs G.M. Siddeshwar and B.V. Naik. After the meeting, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal told reporters some leaders who adopted a neutral stance have now complained to BJP national president J.P. Nadda expressing their displeasure over recent appointments of president for district units and their dissatisfaction was communicated to him by these disgruntled leaders. Yatnal said, these leaders have wished to keep their identities a secret since it was an internal party matter and stated that the leaders with him opposed the appointments of new district unit presidents since the appointments have been made to facilitate smooth election of B.Y. Vijayendra in the ensuing poll to elect the new State BJP Chief. The leaders with him will ask national leaders to put on hold the new appointments made by Vijayendra which has been done as per his will and wish, Yatnal said. The meeting to be held in New Delhi, Yatnal said, the leaders with him will meet the national leaders and party MPs from the State and bring to their notice “on who should occupy the post of State BJP Chief in Karnataka.” Besides, the meeting in New Delhi will also decide on the nominee from their team to contest the ensuing State BJP president post and urge the national leaders to constitute office-bearers keeping in mind the social justice and caste equations.
